Well, believe it or not, it's my favorite time of the year again!! ... O'fests for 2005 are noted below. As always, I hope you can join us for ein(1), zwei(2) or all fests!!! We cover two states here, so try to keep up.

7.28 to 7.31 --German Fest in Milwaukee http://www.germanfest.com/ (had a great time by ourselves last year...Spfld Mueller's and Lil and potentially other family joining us this year)

AUGUST
8.18 --Mt. Prospect Park District Family Brat and Brew fest http://www.mppd.org/mppf.htm (this is new - can't wait to size it up)

SEPTEMBER
9.9 to 9.11 --German/American O'fest on Lincoln/Western http://www.germanday.com/ (had a great time with Nancy & Brian last year and with Teresa in all previous years)

9.10. --Mt. Prospect O'fest? (had a great time by ourselves last year--I think Christine got her picture taken and was in the local paper, had a great time with Spfld Mueller's, the other Alexander's and Lil in past years)

9.14 to 9.16 --Berghoff O'fest (downtown) http://www.berghoff.com/Berghoff/oktoberfest.html (had a great time last year with office folk and loop peeps)

9.16 to 9.18 --Fox Valley O'fest in So. Elgin http://www.germanfun.org/Oktoberfest.htm (had a great time w/ Janice last year, and Alexander's, Soderquists, Hansen's and some Matthews in previous years)

9.17 to 10.03 --AAHH----Munich - 1/2 thinking about going again http://www.oktoberfest.de/en/index.php (have had a stupendous time in past years with my parents, Lil)

9.30 to 10.02 --Downers Grove O'fest http://www.dgrotary.org/ (had a great time with the Freeze family last year)

OCTOBER
10.06 to 10.09 --Naperville O'fest - http://www.visitnaperville.com/Events/q4.html (never been, sounds huge and a bit too much)

10.07 to 10.09 --New Glarus WI, O'fest http://www.swisstown.com/calendar.shtml (had a great time by ourselves last year and with Lynn in past years)

God (and liver) willing, the Mueller's will be attending all but the Naperville O'fest...we'll be at the New Glarus O'fest that w/e.

Subject: 2005 Oktoberfest---DANKE!!!

ALL: Well...three months later and it's all over...I'm both relieved and sad...! Our final attendance at an organized O'fest was this past w/e at the St. Ray's first & hopefully annual event. Much like the true Germans do in Munich, to wrap things up, here are the details as I recall them:

Mueller attendance: Eight (8) Oktoberfest/German events in 11 weeks...

Friends in attendance: 35

Beers consumed: too many to count, types *sampled* include Sprecher-micro, MGD, Rolling Rock, Becks, Berghoff, Hacker Pschorr, Special Export, New Glarus-micro, Lite and Sam Adams.
Food eaten: schnitzel, brats, potato salad, hot dogs, pretzels, red cabbage, sauerkraut, sauerbraten, German chocolate cake, strudel

We really appreciate you wanting to spend time with us celebrating the German heritage...we'd love to join you at a celebration of your heritage...the Irish fests, Greek fests, Swedish fests...you name it, give us the dates and well try to join you.
