2015 O'fests

MAIFEST CHICAGO: 5.28-5.31 ~ We went on Sat-5.30.... Greg D/Ross were there!  Food was great--good brat-buns and soft pretzels w/ the hot mustard this year.  Girls enjoyed the 'hood despite the cold and rain.  Sat in the back/east corner out of the wind.  Drank gluhwein to stay warm-yikes.

GERMANFEST: 7.24-7.26 (Milwaukee) ~ As we did in 2013/14 we went to mass on Sunday at 10:30 /which gets you in free for the day--saved $$$$$....Wunderbar.  Met the Murawski family again.  Always great/various food and music.  Ate schnitzel, drank Sprecker, listened to Germany's own Chikeria.  L bought a nice shirt and had a huge pretzel.

OKTOBERFEST IN AUGUST: 8.14-8.16 ~ Attend on Sat-8.15 (mit friends Angela/Peter--NJ friends! -Lisa an Kirk too)  Great bier and food--the best to date.  Weather was hot/large fans-then it rained....oh well. Great to share g-time w/ A/P.

SPASSFEST: 8.14-8.16 (Germantown, IL) ~maybe some year....Augustfest instead.

HINCKLEY GERMANFEST: 8.22 & 23? (11:30am to 10pm/5) ~ 3nd annual?--New to the line-up in 2013....Fox Valley DANK helping out as they had cancelled the Batavia O'fest for 2013/14~giant sigh. --not sure if it was held in 2015 ???

ITASCA OKTOBERFEST: 9.11-12 ~ Inaugural visit in 2013. Very nicely decorated, good/"expensive" food, only Sam Adams to drink, Jimmy's Bavarians and Johnny W. music. Will attempt to attend again in '15!  ~sadly forgot about it in '14--ugh.  ~plan to attend Friday after work?

PLATZKONZERT: Hoffman Estates: 9.12 ~ good times last year!  ~Giant pretzel and good music.  Plan to attend on Sat!

GERMAN-AMERICAN FEST: 9.11-9.13 ~ Plan to attend (per usual) on Sunday/9.13....straight-up noon.  Meet the Dreyer's?   ~Tri-fecta -- 3 days/3-fests!!!

 

BERGHOFF OKTOBERFEST: 9.16-9.18 ~ Went on 1st night in '14--weather cleared up and was perfect!  Gotta go 16/17, not 18.

 

ST. BERNARDINE/FOREST PARK OKTOBERFEST: ~ Sadly, cancelled in 2012.  not back (yet)

GLENDALE HEIGHTS: 9.10-9.20 ~ 4th year ....pricey but nicely run .... Used a Groupon in 2014/went w/ Donna/Mel.

PALATINE OKTOBERFEST: 9:18-9.20 ~ Luv it mit friends!!  -will have to attend again. 

BERWYN OKTOBERFEST: 9:18-9.19 ~ Not up to our standard.

CHICAGO/NAVY PIER OKTOBERFEST: 9.20-10.05? ~ 2nd (pseudo) annual in 2015?

OAK PARK OKTOBERFEST: 9.19-9.21? ~ Have never been. 
 

PLANO OKTOBERFEST: 9.25-9.27 ~ Loved this one last year w/ Cliff/Jody!  Attend on Sunday/27 on our way back from '80 reunion.
 

MB-ROSEMONT: 9.20-21? ~ C noted this one in 2012.

M U N I C H: 9.19-10.04 ~ A MUST in 2016!  ~been 16 years!

LAKE VILLA OKTOBERFEST: 9.20, 9.27, 10.04???

ST. ALPHONSUS: 9.25-9.27? ~ Never been--Kinderfest on Sunday.

NEW GLARUS OKTOBERFEST: 9.25-9.27 ~ Missed it in 2012/13/14. Can't make '15 either.

LA CROSSE OKTOBERFEST: 9.25-9.28 ~ New addition in 2012....long way to travel.

ST. BEN'S OKTOBERFEST: 10.02-04 ~ Great w/ new rides in 2012/13/14. -plan to attend sat or sun!

NAPERVILLE OKTOBERFEST: 10.03-04? ~ Should check it out some year.

FOX VALLEY OKTOBERFEST: 2nd w/e in Oct--Cancelled (again)!!!! so so sad.

MT. PROSPECT VILLAGE, Fall Festival/Oktoberfest: 10.9 & 10 ~ Plan to attend per usual--maybe both nites!

ALEBURN: Elburn: 10.XX from 1-6pm ~ Brand new in 2011/cancelled in 2012.

ST. RAYMOND OKTOBERFEST: 10.XX? ~ Is it back in 2015?
